The Perfect Road Trip Playlist

  • Post category:Blog

Aside from friends and family, the perfect road trip companion is music! You probably have a favorite song list already built up on Spotify or Apple Music, but here’s another option for you as you embark on your next Road Trip.

We surveyed EverWash employees to bring you The Perfect Road Trip Playlist (According to EverWash)!

“Panama” by Van Halen: The perfect kick-off song once you’ve hit the open road. It exists to be loudly blasted through a car speaker (preferably with the top down).

“Good As Hell” by Lizzo: A super fun and upbeat song that just really makes you feel good as hell! Simple as that.

“Life Is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts: This song comes from the ultimate road-trip movie, and one of our personal favs, “Cars” from Pixar.

“My Hero” by The Foo Fighters: A great song that inspires and always makes you feel good in the moment.

“The Trooper” by Iron Maiden: This song can ONLY be played while on a highway. Traffic lights and stop signs are forbidden.

“Opportunities” by the Pet Shop Boys: You’ve got the car, we’ve got the songs. Let’s make lots of money.

“Jessica” by The Allman Brothers: Give your voice a break from the sing-a-longs and let Dickey Betts’ guitar do the talking.

“Rasputin” by Boney M.: An upbeat song that will have you and everyone else dancing in the seats.

“1979” by The Smashing Pumpkins: A throwback jam that always brings you back to the time when you first heard it.

“Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” by Elton John: A song that gets you ready for the trip at a speed you shouldn’t be traveling at. Roll down the windows and start jamming, you got a classic on your hands.

“I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers: Any “How I Met Your Mother Fans” out there? You know what we’re talking about.

“Square Hammer” by Ghost: This is a great song to play when doing a little summer night driving at 3 AM with the windows down.

“Bad” by U2: Simply put — this is one of the greatest songs ever.

“Rock n’ Roll is Here to Stay” by Danny and the Juniors: Fun 50’s songs, you can’t go wrong! They are from Philly so bonus! (EverWash is headquartered in Philadelphia)

“Holiday Road” by Lindsey Buckingham: This song always makes me smile and think of the National Lampoon movies, especially while out on the road!

“So Fresh, So Clean” by Outkast: Every road trip needs a classic from the 90s to bump along to. Plus your car will look so fresh and clean after your wash.

“Believer” by Imagine Dragons: Sing along lyrics and a great rhythm to enjoy on the road.

“Midnight Rider” by the Allman Brothers: This is the song that plays in every movie when a character is driving through a sunny desert.

“Road Trippin'” by Red Hot Chili Peppers: It’s about road-trippin’ with your buddies, and driving up the coast in the sunshine and under the stars.

“No Sleep Till Brooklyn” by The Beastie Boys: First stop on our in-playlist road trip takes us to the Big Apple, courtesy of Mike-D, MCA, and Ad-Rock.

“The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band: We travel south to visit the meanest fiddler that ever fiddled in Georgia. Bonus Guitar Hero!

“Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynard Skynard: Just a short drive from Georgia, next comes the ultimate truck driving song that makes you leave your cares behind with every note!

“La Grange” by ZZ Top: This blues-rock classic from Texas legends ZZ Top will keep you moving with its driving riff and drum rhythms. Here’s an extended version with some basckstory.

“California Love” by Tupac and Dr. Dre: Hit the California sun with this quintessential West Coast hip-hop song.

“Hawaii Mustang” by Connor Kelly: A good vibe song that is a must-play when on the road. Give this newcomer a listen, you won’t regret it.

“Turn the Page” by Metallica (cover of Bob Seger): Great song and, well, Metallica.

“Plowed” by Sponge: This is a great song for driving fast on an open highway!

“Runnin’ Down a Dream” by Tom Petty: It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down. I had the radio on, I was drivin’

“The Boys Are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy: A perfect tune when you’re driving in the car with good friends.

“Tom Sawyer” by Rush: Time to whip out the air guitar, bass, and drums for this song. Except for the driver! You keep both hands on the steering wheel! Slappin’ da bass, man!

“Don’t Bring Me Down” by Electric Light Orchestra: Gas prices stink, but don’t let that stop you from riding off into the sunset with a smile!

“Magic Carpet Rid” by Steppenwolf: Even if you’re “Born to Be Wild”, sometimes we just need a little Magic Carpet Ride in our showroom clean car.

“Proud Mary” by Creedence Clearwater Revival: Did you really think we’d leave the house without our Creedence tapes?

“It’s A Long Way to the Top” by AC/DC: It’s a long way from home if you’re this far into the playlist.

“Once In a Lifetime” by Talking Heads: It’s fun, easy to sing along to, and the perfect song to blast while driving into the sunset!

“The Breaking of the Fellowship” by Howard Shore (from The Lord of the Rings): Sometimes it’s the score that makes the journey epic (especially good for the journey home).

“Welcome Home” by Coheed and Cambria: What better way to end a trip than with a song called Welcome Home? Finish your journey on a note as high as Claudio Sanchez’s voice.
